Allowances and Accommodation Policy

Is there accommodation for teaching staff?

Yes, accommodation is factored into the compensation package. The university either provides official housing quarters for staff or pays a Rent Allowance in lieu of accommodation.

Because Rent Allowance is not consolidated into the basic basic salary package, it is paid out separately to any officer who is not provided accommodation at the government’s expense.

Other Standard Allowances:

Most basic allowances are consolidated into the salary packages, meaning they are paid together with the basic salary. These include:

  • Transport Allowance & Meal Subsidy
  • Utility & Leave Grants
  • Journal & Research Allowances (for Academic Staff)
  • Furniture & Examination Administration Allowances
  • Hazard Allowance (Specifically for medical and laboratory fields)

Kindly note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for subsequent stages of the selection process.
